This was a treat to illustrate. I just purchased a reference book of samurai armor. I just could not resist trying it out in a drawing. I've always drawn an armor-clad faun race, and only recently decided to try giving them samurai-inspired armor. Yllandra, here, is supposed to be their ruler. Battle-aged and stern, she easily commands an army of men.
Design Constant: female faun warrior
Design Variables:fauns in mythical lore are often depicted as peaceful, music-loving creatures. Mostly influenced by character designs in Narnia, Yllandra's design was my representation of this race as a more war-driven folk.
Variable Concepts is an accumulation of my most recent works. These are a variation of many different pieces in different media. Currently, there are still quite a number of pieces to be posted. I will be showing them all very soon. Sorry for the inconvenience...

Orphans of Market Street
This is my most recent project. Officially titled, Quiapo (named after a little section in Manila), this project would be the flagship of all my creativity. It is an animated feature about street urchins living the hard life of a ghetto immersed in a melting pot of cultures, religions and mysticism. It's a collaboration of brilliant minds, hopefully to show the world the amazing talent and heritage of Filipinos.

Monkey! On the Wire
This is one of many school projects I enjoyed doing while i was studying in Westwood College. Monkey! On the Wire is actually a title I just recently thought of for this project. I don't recall us actually deciding on the title and I merely made this up to sound cute for the target market we designed this for.
Monkey! On the Wire is about these forest critters who, in the far future, were visited by the super-advanced humans. They were enticed to be "plugged in" to experience the wonders of technology. The story revolves around Monkey, a shy little critter who was too poor and submissive to own the most advanced wire to plug in. For that, the rest of the critters tease and reject him. He later realizes that out there, away from technology, was where he could truly be free.

The Vigil
The Vigil is one of my pet projects a few years ago. The art style was heavily influenced by graphic novels of Frank Miller and coloring techniques of John Van Fleet. The design of the characters were set on a fantasy-mafia crossover; heavily shadowed and muted in color.
Milleard
Design Constant: mafia hitman
Design Variables: this character would be my most generic in terms of design. Admittedly, most of the attributes of his outfit are overly used in many fantasy and punk genres. Though I played around with the idea of giving him a revolver and a rapier, which i think would be an interesting fighting style when used together.
Lucas
Design Constant: clean-cut and stern mafioso wielding a sword
Design Variables: Lucas, like Milleard was designed quite generically, but for this guy, I opted to stylize his trench coat. Tried not to make him stand out so much because he should normally blend in with the crowd.

Mythical Creatures of Inkukeshi
Inkukeshi was a school project of one of my peers in Westwood College. He asked me to design a wolf, a phoenix and a dragon to be used as background for the game concept he was working on.
